ALBANY, N.Y. -- The Albany City School District Board of Education gives the green light on the 2012-2013 budget proposal.
The $207.7 million plan includes a 1.5 percent tax levy and has an overall spending increase of less than one percent.
The proposal calls for the elimination of nearly 40 regular positions and 35 substitute positions.
Superintendent Raymond Colucciello says the board is continuing to work hard under difficult circumstances to maintain programs all students in the district need and deserve.
Residents will vote on the budget May 15.
