POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Police in the City of Poughkeepsie are investigating a hit and run that left a pedestrian seriously injured.

Police said the victim was hit by a vehicle in the area of 556 Main Street around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. The victim may have been struck by a light-colored SUV which took off from the scene heading eastbound on Main Street.

The vehicle may have damage to the front passenger side.

Police said the victim is at Westchester County Medical Center and is listed in serious condition.
