BUCHANAN, N.Y. -- If you live near the Indian Point power plant and hear sounds resembling gunshots this week, don't be alarmed. Indian Point will begin conducting emergency drills Monday.

According to Entergy, the drills will involve simulated weapons, and they will sound like actual gunfire. Entergy also said that area law enforcement agencies have been notified about this week's testing.

Indian Point provides 30 percent of the energy used in New York City and Westchester County. The drills are expected to continue until Friday.
