SAUGERTIES, N.Y. -- While Sunday was cold and cloudy with some rain in the area, that didn't stop people from participating in the HITS 5K for the United Way.
Nearly 200 people participated in the event on the HITS showgrounds, which was a run/walk event for everyone of all ages to enjoy.
Organizers said the event raised about $5,500 for the United Way of Ulster County. That money will go to help fund 50 different programs throughout the county.
Su Marcy, Vice President of the United Way of Ulster County said, “United Way has three staff people, so we can't do what we do every year without hundreds of volunteers that help us out."
There was also music, dancing, raffles, and refreshments for those who were there to cheer the participants on.
