ALBANY, N.Y. -- Shoprite announces the grand opening date for its store on Central Avenue in Albany.

According to a message on the company's Facebook pages the 65,000 square foot grocery store will open April 26th. Construction had been underway all winter at the location near Everett Road.

ShopRite said it incorporated environmentally friendly technologies into the design, and the store will feature several choices of take-out food items, as well as home delivery grocery service.

The Albany store joins the company's first outpost in the Capital Region, the Niskayuna ShopRite opened last year. Plans are already underway for more stores in Slingerlands and Colonie.
