NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. -- New Windsor Police said a drunk driver led them on a high speed chase early this morning.

Officers spotted Charlotte McDonald, 23, around 1:30 a.m. driving 80 miles-an-hour on Route 32 near Vail's Gate. When they tried to stop it, McDonald took off north on Route 300. Eventually the driver turned into a parking lot and police were able to block the entrance.

McDonald is charged with DWI, reckless endangerment, and fleeing police. She's being held until she can be arraigned.
