Two arrested after police witness drug deal
KINGSTON, N.Y. -- Two men were arrested after police said they witnessed a drug deal between the pair.

According to the City of Kingston Police Department, members of the Special Investigations Unit saw Scott Nesbitt, 32, and Salaudeen Roots, 32, involved in a drug transaction in midtown Kingston.

When detectives approached the men, police said Roots began struggling with the officers and attempted to get rid of a large bag containing crack cocaine and Ecstasy tablets.

Roots and Nesbitt were arrested on drug charges. Roots was also charged with resisting arrest and tampering with evidence. They were arraigned and sent to Ulster County Jail.
