KINGSTON, N.Y. -- The pool at Kingston's YMCA is now handicapped accessible. A lift chair for the pool and a 13 foot ramp were unveiled Thursday.

The new equipment will make using the pool easier for the disabled, the elderly and other people with special needs.

"There is no reason why anyone who has any kind of physical constraints, that they can't get into the water and enjoying swimming or moving around in the water and feeling healthy," said Heidi Kirschner, CEO of the YMCA Kingston.

The Lions Club, along with other organizations, helped donate funds to the YMCA.

Kirschner says they've been saving for this for three years.
