WARWICK, N.Y. - "To inform the public is very important," said Orange County Executive Ed Diana.

That sentiment is what now has Diana in places like the Warwick Senior Center.
Wednesday evening it becomes the latest stop on his "town hall meeting tour."

"Certainly we have a couple of issues going on right now; Valley View, and the building," said Diana.

"The building" would be the Orange County Government Center in Goshen. Shut down since September from flood damage - Diana would like the county to invest big money in a new building. He says he wants the public to hear directly from him why it's the right decision.
Pat Matero says she favors Diana's "face to face" form of government.

"I'm all for government transparency. I think everything should be an open book," said Matero.

The town hall meetings are a first for Diana - who's been in office for more than a decade.

"We want to hear from the public. We want the public to know what we're thinking about - what they're thinking about and their concerns," said Diana.

Up next on the county executive's town hall meeting schedule, Port Jervis on Monday April 2nd. But according to Diana that's not likely to be the last one as he continues to try to get the word out to county residents on what he feels they need to know.
