NEWBURGH, N.Y. -- There are still no answers after a man is found dead in Newburgh early Sunday morning. It happened at the intersection of Broadway and City Terrace.

Police haven't yet released the identity of the 26-year-old victim pending family notification.

A single candle and balloon mark the spot of the city's latest violent crime. A woman tells YNN she immediately called police after finding the man lying in the street.

Lillian Greene, Newburgh resident said, “He only had one little red spot on the front of his sweatshirt. But when he got up the first time out of the middle of Broadway and started walking towards me, he lifted his shirt, and his whole t-shirt, the whole front of his white T-Shirt when he lifted his hoodie, was full of blood. That's how I knew he was severely injured."

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact Newburgh Police. The phone number is 561-3131.
