ALBANY, N.Y. -- An Albany lawyer who pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated harassment as a hate crime will be sentenced Wednesday in Albany County Court. James Hennessey Jr., 58, faces one to three years in prison.
Hennessey resigned from his more than $100,000 state position in January. Albany police said Hennessey, a state civil service lawyer and retired NYPD officer, made racially charged phone calls to residents of two homes in Albany and used a website to mask his voice and phone number.
The FBI and DA's office were able to trace the calls to the IP address on Hennessey's computer.
