FORT EDWARD, N.Y. -- Several witnesses took the stand Friday in the Matthew Slocum's murder trial.

Slocum is accused killing his mother, stepfather and stepbrother last July, and then setting fire to their white creek home.

On Friday, Slocum's ex girlfriend, Lorretta Colgrove, continued her testimony. Jurors also heard from a New York State Police forensic scientist and a member of the Washington County Sheriff's department.

Day five began with more testimony from Loretta Colgrove. At the end of her testimony, public defender Michael Mercure asked her if she signed immunity papers before her grand jury testimony last year. Colgrove replied that she didn't remember.

Following her testimony, Sergeant Nick Cezeo took the stand. He is the Washington County Sheriff Deputy who drove Slocum back from New Hampshire following his arrest.

Jurors also heard from NYSP Forensic Scientist Melissa Breedlove. She collected blood samples from much of the evidence found at the crime scene, including the alleged murder weapon, a 12-gage shotgun.

She also testified that the shorts Slocum was allegedly wearing contained blood but the shirt did not. The trial resumes next week.
