TROY, N.Y. -- There's two lucky lottery winners in Troy. Two women who said they play the lotto on occasion hit the jackpot on the scratch off tickets they bought last week.
Darlene Maselli, 53, of Lansingburgh is a secretary at a local nursing home and while she said she isn't retiring, she does have plans for her three million dollar prize.
She said after getting the winning ticket at the Raj Quick Stop on Second Avenue, she bought herself a new car. And said now she'll be able to pay for her son's college tuition, who may have brought her some luck the day she got the winning ticket.
"It was my son's birthday, and I got one and I scratched it and it was the number 23, which was on Thursday, that I won on his birthday," said Maselli.
Raquel Donovan, 31, of Waterveliet won a one million dollar prize at the Stewart's shop on Vandenburgh Avenue. She's a registered nurse, who said she couldn't believe her luck when she picked up a winning ticket on her way home from work last Tuesday.
