PITTSFIELD, M.A. -- The daughter of the Berkshire Superior Court Probation Chief was arraigned Wednesday on two misdemeanor charges.
Police said Meredith Nilan, 24, hit a man while driving her car in Pittsfield last December.
Nilan waved her right to appear at Wednesday's hearing. Her attorney, Tim Shugrue, entered not guilty pleas on her behalf.
He told YNN he plans to file a motion for all charges to be dismissed. He said his client was never given due process, nor did she know Pittsfield Police had filed an application for criminal complaint against her.
It's alleged Nilan hit Peter Moore on Winesap Road on December 8th, 2011. Moore's attorney told YNN Moore sustained a broken neck, concussion, and other injuries.
Moore said he was out jogging with his dog when Nilan allegedly struck him from behind. She has been charged with one count of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and one count of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. Her next court appearance is set for March 21st.
