The community is still reacting to thursday night's shooting. We spoke with City Council President Carolyn McLaughlin who attended a grievance session for Nahcream Moore, who said the community concerns go beyond this shooting. Our C.J. Spang reports.

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Emotions are running high following Albany police fatally shooting Nahcream Moore, 19.

Community members voiced some of their frustrations at a police press conference this afternoon. YNN took that press conference live where we learned more about the details of Thursday night and we saw community members voicing their concerns, making clear there is some friction between the community and the police department.

Our C.J. Spang joins us from the newsroom.

A few hours after the press conference, there was a grieving session at Union Missionary Baptist Church. The media were politely asked to leave to give community members privacy. We did speak with Common Council President Carolyn McLaughlin who attended the grievance session. She said the community concerns go beyond this shooting.

McLaughlin said, “People want answers. Not just to what happened to the young man, but answers for the community. People are standing up, sharing different things, ideas about what we can do in the community. But it does take everybody coming together and getting organized to do that."

While we weren't allowed inside the grieving session, we were at that press conference that Police Chief Krokoff essentially stopped because of the continuous outcries from the public. People were yelling for police to answer their questions and give all the facts about the shooting. Chief Krokoff made multiple comments about it being quote "our community". Some people replied saying it's quote "your community" and "the community is here". One woman even got up and started shouting at people to stop yelling and listen to the Chief, although it ultimately didn't work. Councilwoman McLaughlin says the community wants answers but it will take time, although community leaders are doing what they can.

"We are not going to rest until we get the full answer of what happened last night. We are not going to rest until we have all the details for the family as well as for the community. The fact that people have come out of their homes to talk and to be at the press conference today, they want to know."

Common Councilwoman McLaughlin really stressed the need for the community to come together, especially to help the victim's family. Moore's family was at the press conference as well as the grieving session. They did not want to speak to reporters. Nor did many community members. But from what we saw today there's a lot of pain, anger, frustration and sadness in this community that is still looking for answers.
