ALBANY, N.Y. -- It was a tense and chaotic scene as members of the public pack a press conference where Albany police addressed the officer-involved shooting that left one man dead.

Police heard from some angry community members demanding answers into the deadly police shooting that killed 19-year-old Nahcream Moore.

Albany Police Chief Steven Krokoff urged understanding and patience, but the meeting quickly turned into a shouting match.

"Let's work together," Krokoff said. "I'm here to work with you. You're here to work with me. I want this to be the last press conference I ever have involving an individual shot by a police officer. I am here to work with you. Please. I am going to get all the information out. All I can ask from the community is to work with me."

Krokoff said it is very early into the investigation, but he did reveal that Moore was shot after resisting officers. It happened around 10:30 p.m. Thursday on South Pearl Street.

Police said Moore was carrying a loaded gun and when he reached for it, one of the officers opened fire. Moore was pronounced dead at Albany Medical Center.

The name of the officer involved in the shooting has not been released.
