ALBANY COUNTY, N.Y. -- Albany County District Attorney David Soares says he is “very disappointed in what transpired” Thursday, saying up until that point, Albany was a national model for peaceful coexistence and the occupy movement as a whole.
Soares said, “This morning, we awake a little more sober with what’s transpired with this community, with our community, now being captured forever with that image of violence. It’s left a black eye in our community.”
The DA’s office will review Thursday's four arrests in the new year and then decide whether to prosecute. As of now, Soares says he holds his stance of not prosecuting peaceful protesters.
