SALEM, N.Y. -- New information has been released about the cause of the deadly house explosion in Salem last month that killed six people.
State Police say the investigation found propane was released from a tank in the basement just before the explosion. They believe a pressure switch of a home water system may have ignited the propane explosion. However, because of the magnitude of the explosion, police can't positively identify the source of the propane discharge.
Six people were killed and five others injured when the house exploded on July 13th.
