Slocum's attorney files motions for psych. evaluation
WHITE CREEK, N.Y. -- The suspect in the White Creek triple murder case will not be back in a Cambridge courtroom today as originally scheduled.

According to Cambridge-Greenwich Police Chief George Bell, Matthew Slocum's defense attorney has filed motions for a psychological evaluation for his client.

The 23-year-old is accused of shooting and killing his mother, stepfather, and stepbrother, at their White Creek home before burning it down last Wednesday.

More than 100 people gathered Monday at Cambridge United Presbyterian Church to pay their respects to Lisa Harrington, 44, her husband Dan Harrington, 41, and his son, Joshua O'Brien, 24.

Slocum was charged with second-degree murder and arson after he was found by police in New Hampshire later that night. A multi-state Amber Alert was issued when police said he took his girlfriend and infant son after the fire. They were found safe in New Hampshire.
