Jurors heard from a medical examiner as the double murder trial of Michael Mosley continues. As our Sabina Kuriakose reports, there was some graphic testimony as the examiner discussed how many times each victim had been stabbed.

TROY, N.Y. -- A medical examiner took the stand for day six in the murder trial of Michael Mosley. The Wynantskill man is accused of stabbing and killing Arica Schneider and her boyfriend, known drug dealer Samuel Holley, back in 2002.

Dr. Michael Sikirika testified Holley was stabbed 46 times and Schneider was stabbed 30. He says both victims had clusters of shallow wounds, meaning the attacker was looking to conflict pain.

Officials say they barely had a fighting chance and the only offensive wounds were found on Holley's hands.

"What's the best way to hurt Sam and the answer to that question is to torture his girlfriend in front of him. While he watches powerless, unable to do anything and then they kill him," defense attorney Terence Kindlon said

Kindlon says there may have been multiple attackers. Experts say DNA found at the murder scene linked Mosley to bloody bed sheets found in the apartment.

Mosley faces life in prison if convicted.
