CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. -- Governor Cuomo announced Tuesday that nearly $300 million is on its way to the Capital Region to be used for dozens of infrastructure improvement projects.

The money will be used to fix aging bridges and roadways around the area, with the bulk of the money going to repair and restore the Patroon Island Bridge, which carries I-90 over the Hudson River. A total of $145 million will be used for that project.

More than $10 million will also go towards each of the twin bridges on the Northway.

Other projects include the Congress Street Bridge in Troy and the bridge carrying State Street over Route 7 in Schenectady.
