CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. -- New state unemployment numbers released Tuesday show the Capital Region below the state's average unemployment rate.
Albany, Schenectady, Saratoga and Rensselaer counties are all below the state unemployment rate of 9.2 percent.
Among local counties, Albany had the lowest rate, at 7.5 percent.
All four of those counties did see a rise in the unemployment rate from this time last year.
Meanwhile, the State Labor Department says more than 21,000 new private sector jobs were added in February.
