Here's a winter break idea that is a family-friendly and a fun day trip to Corning, New York.

Corning Museum of Glass has 3,500 years of glass, the world's largest collection! Plan to spend a good couple of hours with glass galleries and glass-making demonstrations. Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Rockwell Museum of Western Art on Cedar Street is a fantastic museum of American Western and Native American Art. Open daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Travel Tips: Use the Museum Shuttle Bus to go from one museum to the next. It's free! Also, if you're doing both museums, buy a combo ticket to save a few extra bucks!

Market Street is very walkable for shops, stores, and restaurants.
