BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. -- Kids in Ballston Spa will soon have the chance to build their very own robot and learn about careers in engineering. This is thanks to a new summer program offered by the Ballston Spa School District.
The program kicks off August 1st and runs through August 5th. It is open to students in the sixth, seventh and eighth grade.
Time Warner Cable and the Adirondack Phantoms teamed up to donate the money to make the program possible, as part of Time Warner's Connect a Million Minds initiative.
"They are also working with us on an engineering enrichment program for our older students starting in the fall. So we are very excited about the opportunities the CAMM program has provided for us," said Ballston Spa School Science Coordinator, Diane Irwine.
Time Warner Cable is the parent company of YNN and we are committed to the Connect a Million Minds program, inspiring youth to develop science, technology, engineering and math skills. For more information on the initiative, go to connectamillionminds.com.
