CharityMiles

This is how you kill two birds with one app. The bird that's probably still in your belly from Thanksgiving while helping to donate to a good cause this holiday season. When you start up CharityMiles, you first swipe to select a charity you'd like to help, hit the little info button in the corner to learn more about each charity. Once you've done that, choose what type of exercise you'd like to do to: Walk, run or bike. Then hit start and as you walk, run, or bike money is donated to your cause based on how well you do. Bikers earn 10¢ per mile, walkers and runners earn 25¢ per mile. Developers say they have enough corporate sponsors at the moment to cover up to one million dollars worth of donations, but they're hoping that as more users jump onboard, so too, will more sponsors to help up that amount. CharityMiles is a free app for iPhones and Androids.

Budge!

And Budge! lets you place bets with your friends, for real money, only the money doesn't go into the winner's pocket, but instead, towards a charity. You start by challenging a friend, then you either choose a challenge or type in your own, then place your wager of one, two, or five dollars. Once a winner has been determined, the other person, aka the loser, makes the donation through the app. The app does also integrate with Facebook, giving the winner bragging rights, as well. Budge! is a free app for iOS devices.
