3DPCase

It's part of the whole song and dance. Apple unveils a new iPhone. Anyone ready for an upgrade rejoices. Then, case manufacturers work their rear ends off to have dozens if not hundreds of options ready for launch day.

While there are lots of ways to customize your own, one app, called 3DPCase, lets you design the entire case to be made just for you. You start with a template and then there are ways for you to manipulate that template to make it unique. For example, with bubbles, you drag lines all over and in any direction then type in what you'd like to be carved into it and up pops a 3-D model for you to see before you buy.

Once you do decide to make a purchase (the cases run from about $20-$25), your design is forwarded to the team behind the app, which then uses a 3-D printer to actually print your case.

3DPCase is an iOS only app for free.

Google Play Gift Cards

Meanwhile, Android phone users finally get something they may have been secretly wanting from the world of Apple devices: gift cards. Just like iTunes cards that let you buy friends or colleagues app store credits, Google Play Gift Cards let you do the same for the Google Play store.

The cards come in $10, $25, and $50 denominations. As you'd probably expect, card owners can scratch off the box on the back to reveal a unique code. The user then types the code into the redeem section of the Google Play store and their account is instantly credited.

Google Play Gift Cards are out now at RadioShack, Target and GameStop.
