Heather Maurawski just started this class and she is already seeing results.

"It works areas, like oh, muscles that were forgot. It's core and that is what I love," said Maurawski, a gravity strength student.

The concept of working out with your own body weight isn't new, but using a strap like the ones used in this class, is.

"Gravity strength is a full body workout. You are doing strength conditioning moves with a suspension training strap," said Jessica Lubin, the Good Karma Studio.

Andrew Barr, a lacrosse player, is spending more time on the field thanks to increased strength and flexibility.

"My shoulders have a tendency to get injured and doing this helps all the little muscles around my shoulder and since then, I am out of training room and stay on the field much longer," said Barr.

From squats to biceps and core, the gravity works it all without using a single free weight.

"You are not taking big heavy weights, you are working with your own body weight, your own resistance and you can make it as easier or hard. Walking closer is going to challenge yourself with more resistance, walk yourself back and less resistance,” said Lubin.

"It's great because you are working all the muscle groups, your core, all the upper body especially with this class, because you are using your own body as resistance. It helped me with definition with my upper body," said one student, Joy Rafferty.

The straps are tiered to vary the workout and the degree of difficulty. And don't worry about getting in and out of the straps, it may seem intimidating, but the class meets you at your level of ability.

"Any level at all, young, old, someone out of shape, a body builder, it's still going to be a challenge,” said Lubin.
