ALBANY, N.Y. -- The College of St. Rose celebrates its 89 Commencement by honoring outgoing President Dr. R. Mark Sullivan and his wife, Kathleen.

It was a moment to remember as hundreds of graduates collected their diploma's Saturday. The ceremony was held at the Times union center so more guests could attend.

Doctor Sullivan is leaving his post after serving as president for the last 16 years. During his speech, the president touched on the importance of keeping the spirit of learning alive, even after graduation.

Dr. Sullivan said, “The first and most important bit of advice is to never stop learning. a new degree simply lays the foundation for future learning."

Doctor David Szczerbacki will take over as the new college president on July 1st.
