COLONIE, N.Y. -- Police arrest a former Colonie Youth Center employee after receiving a tip that he may be in possession of child pornography.

After conducting an investigation, Colonie police found Brian Oatman-Gaitan, 20, had several computers and media storage devices containing child pornography and arrested him.

Police say Oatman-Gaitan used to work at the Colonie Youth Center and for a number of other after school programs in the area. He also volunteered at the Colonie Town Library.

Police say the organizations where he worked were not in error.

"This something that was going on behind closed doors, never been accused of this or arrested for anything like this, so his background check with any of this came back clean," said Colonie Police Department Lieutenant Robert Winn.

"We have many, many emails. We'll be following up with them as we have more information," said Colonie Youth center Executive Director Nikki Caruso.

Police have yet to identify any victims in the case.

Oatman-Gaitan has been charged with possessing a sexual performance by a child. Police say additional charges are pending.
