TEXAS -- Even before the sun came up, people showed up at Celebration Church.
Service attendee, Cole Flitton said, “We were talking about it then we were like no there's no way we're going to go deal with all that crowd, then we made the last minute decision to just go, so we were like if we're going to go let's beat the crowd."
These guys camped out and parked close, others were bused in. Around 20,000 people came to hear Tim Tebow speak.
Service attendee, Mike Pojar said, “He doesn't really care what he does, he just does it. And I think more people should be more like that, whether it’s his faith or family or whatever, just do a better job of being who they want to be."
Tebow won two NCAA championships and a Heisman Trophy while at the University of Florida.
The Denver Broncos just traded him to the Jets.
Tebow said, “Whatever happens in life, good or bad, whether you're the hero or the goat, whether you like it or not, you know that someone has a plan for your life."
But the second string quarterback is most well-known for his faith.
"I don't think I was the first athlete to get on one knee and pray,” said Tebow.
But not every football player sports John 3:16 under their eyes. Tebow does it for every game.
Joe Champion, Celebration Church Pastor said, “It's not fluff it's not hype, it's not something just talked about, he is so careful so guarded, so I think that there's substance and that he carries a weight.”
At the end of his conversation with Pastor Joe, Tebow emphasized passion. He told the crowd people are drawn to enthusiasm.
Tebow's enthusiasm is why all these people came out here today.
Celebration Church's pastors said Tebow reached out to them. They did not have a number on how much the event cost.
