Woman accused of threatening child
ALBANY, N.Y. -- An Albany woman is accused of threatening an 11-year-old with a knife.
Police said they received a call from the victim's mother Friday night. The mother told officers her daughter came home from Swinburne Park and told her a woman she knows came at her with a knife.
The victim told police Shatia Williams, 25, began yelling vulgar remarks at her from across the street. She said while they yelled back and forth, Williams took a knife out of her pocket, showed it to her, and then walked across the street toward the girl. She told police she ran away from her and went home to tell her mother.
Williams was arrested shortly after the call. She was charged with menacing and endangering the welfare of a child.
