ALBANY, N.Y. -- A "Bowl for Kids Sake" raises money and awareness for Big brothers and big sisters of the Capital Region.
People laced up their bowling shoes on Sunday to help support the cause. The Big Brothers and Big Sisters program works to help children by matching them up with adult mentors.
Event organizers said the event is not just about raising money, but also awareness.
Michael Castellana , President and CEO of SEFCU said, “There are hundreds of kids in the Capital Region that are on a waiting list for Big Brothers, Big Sisters and we need to raise money to get those kids off of the waiting list.”
SEFCU began supporting big Brothers and Sisters back in 1993 and has since raised more than $240,000 for the program and its services.
